God help me, I know I broke my vow and am reading OotS again despite not having built up a sufficient backlog, but I've really been enjoying the past few comics.

I should note that despite my grumping about his unprofessional update schedule in the other thread, I must still be following it and interested otherwise, ugh, I'd stop putting up with it.

Heck, if he actually updated on a regular schedule he'd have ended his story years ago before Kickstarter took off and be short his big payday.

I follow other webcomics with slooooow update schedules, but I console myself with that often times they have some sort of notice/routine instead of completely random, and their art style is much more demanding on the artist.

Speaking of DKR in the other thread... was anyone else reminded of this at the end?

I don't have the quote, but Christopher Nolan said his original vision for DKR involved the Joker. Certainly DKR was missing all the Nolanishness of the first two movies, which I assume is the result of his vision being upended by Heath Ledger's unfortunate passing.

Hey, PL, did you know that Inception did really well? It turns out that people just like Christopher Nolan. Even if they didn't, the success of a movie franchise doesn't really strike me as a valid reason to be glad someone died.

Inception was also crap.

And they marketed THAT one on a heavy internet meme campaign that began before the movie came out.

Seriously. These things aren't achievements of movie making they are achievements of aggressive marketing.

Heath Ledger did OK (but not as well as fucking Jack Nicholson) in a movie with (marginally) better production values than the old crap a worse lead actor than even the worst of the worst old crap, (even) worse writing than well, ok just the better ones of the old crap and a endless pointless meandering mess of a second rate uninteresting plot that just plain went WAY TOO LONG.

Because the success in actual real world dollars of Inception and Batman Begins and the Prestige and Memento and Following and Insomnia and the Dark Knight, which you might note is Christopher Nolan's entire filmography up until DKR, show that audiences in general really like Christopher Nolan and he does not need some actor's death to make his movies succeed.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnasus was the better movie that Heath Ledger died making. Have you even heard of it? It wasn't that great but it WAS better than the stupid batman movie, the prior stupid batman movie, AND inception ALL COMBINED.
